Review: I was introduced to Will Barrett at Contender “FB Marine group” from a good friend at a boat show in 2023. He gave me a build sheet and we kept in touch on building a new vessel. I was at there office a few weeks ago in reference to the build and we went over options, colors etc. I had to wait for boat show pricing to kick in so we were waiting for the next show ( Miami).I went to the show to finalize the purchase and the owner Kim was very nice but pushy. I didn’t mind because It was my time to purchase and I was ready. After making the agreement I asked for the final purchase PDF with all the options we built the vessel with , prices etc.. I was told there was no internet so I couldn’t have it then. Lol yeah right ! That evening I finally received it and when I added up all the math there was a mistake . The math didn’t add up correctly. I immediately call Will Barrett. He said oh there was a 12% increase. 12% increase Boat builders are discounting vessels right now bc of the soft market and economy , interest rates etc.Are u kidding me. I was just at your office a few weeks ago and no one said anything about a price increase. As a matter of fact This morning at the show the build sheet you were holding in your hand is the same build sheet I have and all the prices are the same.So I got the old bait and switch. Will is a very nice guy. I like himBut you’re not gonna make a deal with me and in the 9th inning change it . Don’t deal with these guys they are dishonest ! There are hundreds of boat builders out there find another one like I did.

Review: Forget Buying anything from FB Marine Group. The owner Randy told me the boat is the "cleanest boat in the Country" and that the 90 hp Yamaha "has been fully serviced" (the engine was blown - see below). He also told Warren from Marine Unlimited (who I had look at the boat) that "the engine has been fully serviced". Would Randy lie to someone he has known for 30 years? Apparently, yes.The Yamaha had NOT been serviced (see attached pictures of parts that needed to be replaced). In fact the trim motor was broken. My shipper pointed out to FB Marine that the trim motor was not working when they tried to tilt the motor when they were wrapping the boat to be shipped. FB Marine didn't care and sent the boat 1250 miles up North.So, FB Marine sent a broken engine after all the lies they told JUST TO SELL A SMALL 15' BOAT. Just imagine what they'll tell you on a larger boat. So far, I have spent $3,000 and the 90 hp Yamaha engine is still not working properly.On top of that, Randy takes weeks to call you back. We signed the purchase agreement on May 16, 2019. The boat wasn't ready to ship until June 24 but FB Marine didn't send my title until AUGUST 10. So, we missed using the boat for the 2019 boating season (it's now Aug 21 and the 90 hp Yamaha still does not work properly).September 8, 2019 update -- the engine is blown and beyond repair (repairs would cost more than a new engine).

Review: They came out to tune up my engine (100 hour tune up) and fix the bilge pump. I thought it wasn't working, but ... i was screwing something up on my end ... but they still went out to check everything for me. They just went above and beyond. Their price is a bit high, but i would rather get 5 star work at a 5 star price than 3 star work at a 3 star price. Good communication as well.
